Time to get with the modern world...
At last check Cataract or Cagles Mill Lake was back to normal water level, and all ramps were usable. The water temp was between 75 and 81 degrees, depending on time of day. The fish are biting in the morning and evening. Middle of day is pretty slow. Also I was surprised to see that some White Crappie still had eggs in them. Good Luck to all!

The lake is about fished out, too much fishing pressure in 09 has reduced the catch to the point that it is not worth the trip, unless you like six inch fish.

I dont think it is fished out as much as it is over fished. Those fish are smart they see the same bait the same lures and hear the same unusual noises in the water and somehow they just know that we are trying to catch them. But I will agree with you there is alot of small fish, and with all the flooding we have had they should have had a good spawn and will probably produce several more small fish.

The Crappie are biting now! Try trolling with a medium diving crankbait red/blk, or yel/grn. If that doesn’t work try drifting a minnow on the bottom or the old trusted slip bobber. The water level is normal or slightly down. The water temp was 72 degrees as of 5-6-10. Good Luck and hope you all enjoy the spring. Remember your comments and info are welcomed.
